CopyFX is now called RoboForex Copy Trading Service. RoboForex announced the new name on 6 November 2025 and moved MT4, MT5, and R StocksTrader strategies into one public rating. The old CopyFX name remains useful for finding the service, but a current account should show Copy Trading Service rather than the product presentation described in older reviews.
The service is a broker-native way to subscribe to another RoboForex client's strategy. It combines strategy discovery, automatic order copying, position-size rules, and trader compensation inside one broker relationship. That convenience does not make the Leader's return transferable: account equity, platform, instruments, margin, rounding, spread, execution, and manual actions can produce a different result for the Investor.
Traders Fund Hub does not currently record an affiliate relationship with CopyFX or RoboForex. The verdict CTA uses our audited official redirect. Product, fee, account, rating, legal, and lifecycle claims link to first-party RoboForex pages captured on 18 August 2026; commercial status contributes 0 points to this assessment.
- New name: CopyFX became Copy Trading Service on 6 November 2025.
- One rating, separate platforms: MT4, MT5, and R StocksTrader strategies appear together, but cross-platform copying is not supported.
- 3 size modes: current help documents Proportional, Classic, and Fixed copying.
- Strategy-specific minimum: each Trader sets the Investor's minimum subscription deposit; the public $100 threshold is for a Trader to publish subscription conditions.
- Current compensation: detailed help lists Performance Fee from 5% to 50% or No Commission, with 1-, 2-, or 4-week periods.
- Public fee conflict: the trader landing page displays 0%-50%, while its detailed FAQ says 5%-50%; check the live strategy terms.
- Stopping has a lifecycle: Pause leaves existing copied trades synchronised; Cancel leaves them open under the Investor's control.
- Availability is restricted: the named broker entity is RoboForex Ltd under Belize FSC registration/licence 9759600, and the site says it does not target EU, EEA, or UK clients.
What happened to CopyFX?
RoboForex's 6 November 2025 announcement says CopyFX was upgraded and renamed Copy Trading Service. It introduced a consolidated strategy rating across MT4, MT5, and R StocksTrader, public rating access without login, shareable strategy pages, and one route for discovery, subscription, and fund management.
The rebrand changes the product vocabulary, not the basic relationship. A Trader publishes a strategy and subscription conditions; an Investor selects that strategy and permits the service to copy individual orders into a separate account. Funds remain in the Investor's broker account, but the copied positions expose those funds to leveraged-market risk and to the settings chosen for the subscription.
The retained CopyFX URL answers the old-name search intent without creating a duplicate article. Readers comparing models should use the copy-trading guide first: Copy Trading Service is broker-native, whereas the ZuluTrade review covers a social platform that connects multiple broker paths and the Traders Connect review covers a private copier for accounts a trader already controls.
Unified rating does not mean cross-platform copying
The distinction is explicit in the current strategy-sharing page: Copy Trading Service does not currently support cross-platform copying. A Trader can publish separate accounts on more than one platform, but a consolidated discovery page does not turn an MT4 strategy into an MT5 or R StocksTrader execution stream.
| Platform | Trader-account condition stated by RoboForex | Investor check |
|---|---|---|
| MT4 | Any real MT4 account | Confirm the strategy, symbols, lot steps, and receiving account are compatible |
| MT5 | A real MT5 account with Hedge enabled | Do not assume a netting account can reproduce the same order lifecycle |
| R StocksTrader | A real R StocksTrader account with Hedge enabled | Verify each instrument is available and copyable on the receiving account |
Compatibility is more specific than the platform logo. RoboForex's current help says unsupported instruments are not copied, insufficient funds can skip a transaction, and a copied size can round to zero. A ProCent account, for example, supports a narrower asset set than some other accounts. Check the exact source and destination account before treating a visible strategy as executable.
Current minimums and account boundary
The old claim that every Investor can start copying with $10 is not supported by the current product rules. The current subscription-conditions page says the Trader sets the minimum USD deposit an Investor needs for that specific strategy. Read the amount on the live offer before funding.
The separate $100 figure applies to strategy providers. RoboForex says a Trader must deposit at least $100 into the appropriate real account before setting subscription terms and sharing a strategy. That threshold does not prove the Trader has enough capital for the risk taken, and it is not a universal Investor minimum.
Do not copy a static table of Prime, ECN, Pro, ProCent, or R StocksTrader leverage and spreads from an old review. Broker account specifications can change by entity, platform, instrument, country, and offer. The decision-relevant test is the live account that will receive the orders: base currency, leverage, contract size, minimum lot, lot step, margin rule, symbol list, spread, commission, swap, and stop-out level.
Copying modes: 3 different risk calculations
The current copying-mode help documents 3 modes. The label is not a risk limit; it is the formula used to translate a source order into an Investor order.
| Mode | Current calculation | Main failure test |
|---|---|---|
| Proportional | Uses Investor equity divided by Trader equity, then applies copied volume and a coefficient | A deposit, withdrawal, loss, or coefficient change can alter later position sizes |
| Classic | Multiplies the Trader's exact volume by the Investor's volume multiplier; equity is ignored | A source size suitable for a larger account can be excessive for a smaller Investor |
| Fixed | Copies every new order at the Investor's selected lot size, regardless of Trader volume or either equity | The fixed amount can understate small source trades and overstate large-risk or multi-entry sequences |
RoboForex also says invalid sizes are adjusted to an allowed value, unless a selected round-down rule makes the amount zero. Test the smallest and largest source orders, multiple simultaneous positions, partial closes, changed stops, and insufficient-margin behavior. A mathematically correct multiplier can still create a poor risk result.
CopyFX fees and the current public conflict
There are 3 separate cost layers: the Trader's stated compensation, normal broker trading costs, and account-funding or conversion costs. RoboForex advertises no additional service usage fee, but its current Investor fee help says Performance Fee is the most common commission type. “No usage fee” therefore should not be read as “no cost to copy.”
| Item | Current first-party statement | Decision boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Performance Fee | Trader page hero shows 0%-50%; its detailed FAQ and current help say 5%-50% | Use the percentage displayed on the live strategy before subscribing |
| No Commission | Current help lists a Trader Without Commission option | Spread, commission, swap, slippage, and funding costs can remain |
| Investment period | 1, 2, or 4 weeks; commission is normally credited at period end | Cancellation can trigger outstanding commission calculation earlier |
| Legacy fee labels | Current English help does not list the old Volume Fee or Subscription Fee as general choices | Do not rely on an old CopyFX four-scheme table; inspect the actual offer |
The fee is reserved rather than immediately sent to the Trader, then transferred at the end of the investment period or when the Investor unsubscribes. This describes the service calculation, not net profitability. Compare the Investor's broker statement after spread, commission, swap, currency conversion, deposit or withdrawal charges, and any copied-position divergence.
How to read the rating without chasing returns
The current rating help lists Profit in USD, Yield, Maximum Drawdown, current Balance, and Investor count. It can filter by period and commission scheme, and it exposes a Partner Program filter. These fields help narrow a list; they do not establish strategy quality on their own.
| Displayed field | What to test | Warning sign |
|---|---|---|
| Yield | Compare full history with shorter periods and identify balance-operation boundaries | A short surge dominates the rank or the underlying risk is unclear |
| Maximum drawdown | Read the platform's equity-versus-balance definition and inspect open exposure | The strategy keeps losses open, adds to losers, or lacks a complete adverse period |
| Balance | Compare capital with order size, concentration, and leverage | Small capital supports a large headline return through excessive exposure |
| Investors | Treat follower count as adoption, not audited performance | Popularity substitutes for a documented risk and execution review |
Promotion can affect discovery. Current subscription conditions allow a Trader to set a Partner commission rate from 10% to 90%, and the rating can filter for Partner Program participants. That does not make a listed strategy poor, but it means referrals and Investor count are not independent proof of trading skill. Check performance, risk, fee, and account compatibility separately.
Use the balance-versus-equity drawdown guide when reading the rating. A realised balance can look stable while equity falls through open losses, and one published drawdown number cannot reveal every intraday path, concentration, recovery time, or tail event.
Execution and skipped-trade risks
Automatic copying creates a new order in the Investor account; it does not transfer the Trader's fill. The Investor can receive another price, size, cost, or no order. RoboForex's current troubleshooting page lists pending subscription approval, no new source trade, insufficient funds, unavailable instruments, Pause mode, and volume rounded to zero as reasons a trade may not copy.
Other practical differences include spread widening, slippage, latency, market hours, contract specification, leverage, margin, stop distance, rejected changes, partial execution, swap, and manual intervention. A skipped entry can also break later actions: if the Investor never opened the position, a copied stop change or close has nothing to manage. Reconcile order IDs and broker statements instead of comparing only percentage return.
The service does not remove behavioral risk. Copying a high-ranked Trader after a winning streak, increasing a coefficient after losses, or subscribing to several correlated strategies can magnify exposure. The overtrading guide provides a useful limit framework for total positions, daily loss, and intervention rules.
Pause, cancel, and the open-position trap
The current subscription-management help gives Pause and Cancel different consequences. Pause stops new trades, but positions copied before the pause remain open and continue following the Trader. Cancel also leaves existing copied positions open, but the Investor takes full responsibility for managing and closing them.
Cancellation can deduct outstanding commission for already closed copied trades within minutes. A user who intends to exit therefore needs 3 checks: whether copied positions remain open, whether pending orders remain, and what commission is reserved. Do not treat an inactive subscription badge as evidence that market exposure is zero.
A staged Copy Trading Service test plan
| Stage | Test | Pass condition |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Eligibility | Confirm country, contracting entity, platform, account type, instruments, and live strategy minimum | Every permission and cost is visible before funding |
| 2. Record audit | Inspect full history, yield boundaries, maximum drawdown, open exposure, capital, fee, and Partner status | The strategy has enough evidence for a written maximum-loss plan |
| 3. Small account | Use the smallest suitable isolated account and conservative copy mode | Largest expected source order fits margin and loss limits after rounding |
| 4. Lifecycle | Observe entry, stop, take profit, edit, partial close, full close, skipped trade, and simultaneous positions | Broker-side orders reconcile with understood differences and no orphan exposure |
| 5. Offboarding | Rehearse Pause, resume, Cancel, manual flattening, and commission deduction | The Investor can identify and close every remaining position and order |
| 6. Scale decision | Compare Trader and Investor statements across a representative live sample | Observed slippage, costs, omissions, and drawdown remain inside the written budget |
RoboForex suggests ProCent for lower-capital real-market strategy testing, but the account supports a narrower instrument set and lower nominal capital does not make leveraged trading safe. Use it only when the intended strategy and symbols are compatible. A demo or cent test proves workflow behavior, not future return or live execution at scale.
Regulation and country availability
The current regulation page identifies RoboForex Ltd as registered with the Financial Services Commission of Belize under the Securities Industry Act 2021, registration/licence number 9759600. That is the named broker entity on the captured public site; it is not a guarantee of strategy quality, copied execution, profitability, or recovery.
The same current site says RoboForex Ltd and its partners do not target EU, EEA, or UK clients and lists the US, Canada, Japan, Australia, and numerous other restricted territories. Availability, legal entity, client classification, account type, protections, and recourse must be checked in the live onboarding flow for the user's residence before any deposit.
Copy trading adds a provider-selection risk to ordinary leveraged CFD risk. The Investor chooses the Trader and remains responsible for losses according to RoboForex's current help. A licence for the broker does not approve each Trader, audit each strategy description, or promise that the rating captures every relevant risk.
Benefits and limitations
| Useful when | Weak when |
|---|---|
| A RoboForex client wants broker-native strategy discovery and copying without separate copier software | The Investor needs cross-platform copying or a strategy outside the RoboForex account ecosystem |
| The unified rating and 3 size modes support a documented selection and allocation process | Rank, Yield, Investor count, or a short history is treated as proof of future return |
| Strategy-specific minimums and compensation are visible before subscription | “No additional usage fee” is mistaken for no performance fee or no broker cost |
| Pause and Cancel provide distinct controls for subscription management | The Investor assumes either button automatically closes all existing market exposure |
| A small compatible account can test copying and offboarding before scaling | Demo, ProCent, or one successful trade is treated as validation of live performance |
Verdict: useful inside a narrow, tested boundary
Copy Trading Service can fit an eligible RoboForex client who wants strategy discovery and execution in one broker-native workflow, understands the 3 size formulas, checks the live fee and minimum, and can monitor the receiving account independently. The consolidated rating, transparent strategy settings, and separate Pause and Cancel controls are useful process tools.
It is a poor fit for anyone expecting the old CopyFX page, cross-platform copying, identical Trader returns, automatic loss control, or an effortless source of income. Select from a complete risk record rather than headline Yield, use an isolated compatible account, test every order and offboarding state, and scale only from reconciled Investor results.
