A futures prop firm sells an evaluation on exchange-listed futures contracts, such as equity-index, energy, metals or currency futures, usually on a simulated account, and pays a share of profits once you pass and meet its payout rules. Pricing is often a monthly subscription plus an activation fee rather than a one-time CFD challenge fee.
Compare the total cost to funded (every monthly rebill plus activation), whether drawdown trails intraday or at end of day, payout gates such as winning days or consistency, and which platforms and data feeds the product supports. Headline account size matters less than the dollar loss room you get for that cost.
Read pricingModel before comparing headline prices. A monthly subscription can rebill until the trader passes or cancels, while a one-time evaluation can still add a funded-account activation payment.
Intraday trailing can tighten from an unrealised equity peak. EOD-trailing normally recalculates from a closing balance, but the exact lock, reset, and funded-stage rule still varies by product.
Do not infer live capital from a funded label. Read the named agreement for the evaluation, simulated-funded, and any later live-account stage, including the conditions for moving between them.
The CFTC oversees designated contract markets and requires certain derivatives intermediaries to register. Exchange oversight does not by itself establish the registration status of an evaluation provider or software platform; check NFA BASIC separately.
