Trading Rules
Below are key trading rules you’ll encounter at E8 Markets:
- Traders must adhere to defined drawdown limits (initial, trailing, or static) and profit-target thresholds depending on the chosen evaluation model.
- Minimum trading days apply. For example, some evaluations require just 1 business day, others more.
- Prohibited strategies include: arbitrage, latency/exploit trading, hedging across multiple accounts, ultra-high-frequency abuse, and trading patterns inconsistent with “real market” behavior.
- Consistency rule: E8 may monitor strategy consistency and impose risk limits (e.g., max ~1% risk per trade if inconsistent behaviour is detected).
Copy Trading
For traders with multiple accounts:
- E8 Markets allows internal replication of your own strategy across your accounts in some cases, but the rules restrict copying amongst multiple accounts in the evaluation phase to ensure fair assessment.
- External “social trading” (other traders copying your funded account) is prohibited.
News & Weekend Trading
E8 Markets’ policy for news and weekend trading:
- News-event trading is permitted in many accounts; E8 expressly states news trading is allowed under their “Rules” page.
- Holding positions overnight or over weekends is permitted, but traders must be aware that gaps and slippage risk apply in these periods, and risk may be higher.
Scaling
Here’s an overview of E8 Markets account sizes and scaling options:
- Account sizes start from $5,000 and go up to $500,000, depending on challenge type.
- Scaling plan: E8 offers the opportunity to grow your funded allocation by achieving performance milestones (e.g., profit targets over a set period), resulting in, e.g., 25% capital increases every 3-4 months.
EAs (Expert Advisors)
- E8 Markets permits use of EAs in many of their programs, but with important caveats: each trader must maintain a consistent trading strategy, and identical EA strategies across multiple evaluation accounts may be restricted or flagged.
- Use of third-party widely distributed “signal” bots are restricted.
Payout Rules
E8 Markets’ payout rules are as follows:
- Profit Split: Up to 100% of net profits are paid to the trader.
- First Payout: Some plans allow first payout as soon as 8 days after the first trade on the funded account in certain evaluation models.
Payout Frequency: Many programs offer “On-Demand” payout requests, and some models have bi-weekly payout access.
